Letter from Brampton Rovers FC

Dear Jim

Following our match with your under 13s team on the 4th December, i wanted to write to express my gratitude towards Neil Beech, all the players, coaches and supporters. Throughout the game the parents offered words of praise to my players and showed concern towards one child who received an injury during a slip. It was difficult to know which parents belonged to which team.

Both home and away all those associated with the team have always been freindly and should be highlighted as a top example of behaviour during a football match.

Many thanks once again for the support shown towards my team and best wishes for the remainder of the season.

Under 18s lost at home to top of the league Woodhouse Juniors 2-1 Philip Hulley

The under 18s played a man short for most of the first half and were soon 2 goals down but after 35 mins they were back to full strength and gave as good as they got and more than held there own but could not get the draw they deserved.

special mention goes to the stand in keeper Kyle Barber, who was outstanding for Birks Holt including a penalty save

Six a Side

Well the six a side tournament as come and gone, to say it was our first one I, and a lot more thought it went very well, I have had lots of compliments about how well it was run, and a lot of them came from Maltby Juniors, who have been running six a sides for a long time.
The first day was tremendous weather smashing ,a bit of a let down on the second day, but we cannot predict the weather.
Our sides did not win any of the groups but the games were tight and they and the managers did our club proud, and here again a lot of praise towards our club from other club members. A big thank you for every person who helped our weekend be a success.

Cricket news

One of our under 12s played cricket this w/e for Maltbys under 12s,opened the batting and duly scored 32 runs which went a long way for the team to win their first game of the season, well done Kyle Beech.

Our six a side is fast approaching,most of the organization as been sorted out, ie tents,food, refs, nearly all the ground work, the only problem is teams or lack of them we need one last push to get some teams to enter, I know we cannot make them come,if we cannot get them out of our leagues then we will have to go higher, without teams we have not go a competition, so come on lads one big effort in the next fortnight. Tony Crowley, under 10s manager is holding trials on the Welfare ground on Sat 9th of June and Sat the 18th of June.

Proposed change--Team rankings within the competition will be decided by points with 3 points, being awarded for a win 1 point for a drawn match. The teams gaining the highest number of points in their respective division shall be ajudged the winners. Matches must not be played for double points.
